- Each person's rent share and how it's calculated (equal, room size or income)
- Rent due date and who pays the landlord
- Which utilities are shared, and who holds each account
- Utility split method and monthly "bills day"
- Security deposit: who paid what, and how it's returned
- Shared household supplies: kitty or take turns?
- What happens if someone pays late
Living together
- Chore rotation (kitchen, bathroom, trash, floors)
- Guests and overnight visitors: how often is OK?
- Partners staying over: is there a point where they chip in?
- Quiet hours on weeknights and weekends
- Shared food vs labeled food
- Thermostat settings
- Pets, smoking, parties
Moving out
- Notice period to give roommates
- Finding a replacement and who must approve them
- Final utility bills and closing accounts
- Splitting deposit deductions
